Once upon a time...No. Once upon a time is for fairy tales. This. This is far from any fairytale. Fairytales are full of fictional characters, princesses, and happy endings. It should begin as...
It all started with a friendship. Two lone wolves in search for a place to live safely from all the dangers of being what they were, shifters. It was actually an accident the way they found the lake and all it's territories, but both Kami and Kita knew what they had found instantly. Of course, they researched the area before claiming it. In a small town just a few miles outside the territory they found that the entire area had been deserted due to the hunters, who had come from miles around just to hunt this particular area. The two learned that there were rumors about wolves that could shape themselves into other beings and that the prices were high for proof. Vast amounts of land and water but scarce amounts of food. The hunters had indeed cleaned the whole land out, though that only meant that there was no need for them to come back. They agreed to stay here and make a home for themselves, and were soon surprised to find a few feas that came through the town. Smooth talking and the simple fact that they were the only ones like them set up the perfect atmosphere for mating, and eventually love. But as stated before, there are no happy endings... Kita had decided to leave with the fea he fell for while Kami stayed at the lake with his new love, Avanti. Not long after Kita left, others came to the land telling Kami that they were told it was a safe place for their kind. Kami gladly accepted them, though on one condition. And so began his pack, Ulisigi Wa-Ya. More and more wolves and shifters alike came to find their ways to the Lake, and Kami's pack continued to grow. It wasn't long until the forests began to flourish with more animals, more wolves, more territory. With his pack the size that it was, there was no one that stopped him from completely taking hold of all of Wolf's Lake. A year had passed and already there were signs of hunters coming back. Several animals, shifters, and even a few humans, found themselves caught in traps, while countless others were shot, beaten, and killed. A small war was declared on any hunters that stepped foot onto the territory, and so began the lake's first bloodshed. |

| The Passion | ||
|
The Passion, whether triggered by pain, high emotion, joyous will, or the simple relaxation of our human form, is always a magnificent thing, an earth-stopping wonder that no outsider can fully comprehend. That is, of course, its essential magic -- that it is now and will forever be a grand and glorious mystery. The fire rises up from the belly, a swelling hunger, a rolling wave of intensity that sucks dancing sparks of energy from the air and sets in motion a whirlwind of power, pure and unvarnished. In this moment of transmutation, as we are caught up between one world and the next, universes dance on our fingertips, angels pause to bow to us; we are creatures of neither heaven nor earth, yet masters of both. We are the savage and the god, the beast and the poem; we are the essence of all creation. The Passion, with all its many metaphors and philosophical implications, with the lessons and variations of a thousand lifetimes to tell, is quite simply the reason for our existence. It is why we are Nature's most perfect creation. The hunger, the joy, the longing redoubles on itself until it becomes an explosion of pure emotion, a vortex of light and color that has the power to transcend the laws of matter and energy. In the blink of an eye, the clap of a thunderbolt, the space of a sharply indrawn breath, we grasp the power and claim it. We pass from one state to the other; we Become. We master. ~ Alexander Devoncroix, Werewolf 1897. |
